National Mathematics Day -Dec 2021

 

Maths club 'Ganitha Jalika ' of Mar Osthatheos training college in association with IQAC celebrated National Mathematics day on 22/12/2021

                    As a part of Mathematics day celebration an event was organized under the name 'PHILOMATH'. Philomath mean to love maths. The goal of this programme is to change the fear of maths and make everyone love maths What we mean by this programme is to see Maths become a friend and increase the interest in it . The programme was started at 12 p.m .The theme of the event was  'No fear become dear' . The purpose of this programme is to bring everyone closer to maths without fear .The programme anchoring was done by Anusree T (Natural science) and the welcome speech was done by Athira k ( Commerce). She invited all of those present there. Mahesh p.s (Mathematics) gave an introduction to everyone about the event. After that Anusree invited our dear principal Dr.Limsy John T to inaugurate the event 'philomath' . Ma'am inaugurated the programme by introducing our Mathematic album  'Beyond the infinity ' created by first year B.Ed. students and also introduce the digital magazine 'Thesaurus mathematicae' created by second year B.Ed. Mathematics students. After that ma'am inaugurated our one month long event 'Philomath' conducted by Maths club 'Ganitha Jalika ' as a part of national Mathematics day celebration to make students Maths friendly.Then there was a gaming section.

                            Micha p.s ( Mathematics) introduced the rules and regulations of the game. Then we started the game . In between the game we also provided a video about Ramanujan.The questions are shown by slide presentation and the slides are created by Thasni Khan M.K (Mathematics) and Stefeena k. Wilson (Mathematics). So many students participated the game and they answered the questions. Also Mahesh gave a detailed explanations about the answer. We asked total 5 questions. All students are effectively participated the game. Finally there was a tie occurred. So we asked an another question to them and finalize the winner's. The winner's are Greeshma mohan k , Vijitha k and Anna mariya C.J in Physical science. The prize distribution for the winner's was done by Remya M (assistant professor in mathematics education). The winding section was done by Ann Chacko pannakal (Physical science)  with a vote of thanks to all those who participated in it . Above all it was a wonderful and memorable day in our college life .
